What does this fault code mean?
Although the fault code refers to the rear left inflatable curtain, it concerns the signal from the seat belt tensioner. The supplemental restraint system module (SRS) has also identified an inflatable curtain as installed, even though it is programmed for none.
Possible causes
- The SRS module identifies that an inflatable curtain is installed, even though it is programmed without one
What you can do
- 1If you have a diagnostic tool, read and note the fault code
- 2Have a workshop check whether an inflatable curtain is connected to the rear left connector, especially in a five-seat car
- 3Have a workshop determine which wiring circuit the fault lies in, since this decides which fault code is shown
- 4If no fault is found, the control module should be replaced, which a workshop does
- 5Repairs to the airbag system are for a workshop, not for you
