What does this fault code mean?
The fault is intermittent, meaning it is sporadic and may not be present right now. It concerns the wiring to the front right side impact sensor, where the module has recorded a voltage that stays too high or too low for a period.
Possible causes
- The signal wire has a short circuit to supply voltage, so the signal is too high
- Faulty side impact sensor, which also gives a signal that is too high
- The signal wire has a short circuit to ground, so the signal is too low
What you can do
- 1If you have a diagnostic tool, read the fault code and drive the car to see whether it returns
- 2Have a workshop check the connectors on the SRS module and on the front right sensor for contact resistance and corrosion
- 3Have a workshop look for an intermittent short to supply voltage in the wire to the front right side impact sensor
- 4The electrical checks on the SRS system are for a workshop
Symptoms you may notice1
