What does this fault code mean?
The SRS control module has at some point identified the right front side impact sensor as having an incorrect identity. The fault is no longer present but was registered before, so it is intermittent. A code like this often appears after the sensor has been replaced with one that does not suit the car.
Possible causes
- Incorrect identity of the side impact sensor
- Faulty side impact sensor
What you can do
- 1Check whether the SRS warning lamp is still on; if so, a workshop should check the system
- 2Clear the code and road test the car; if it returns, a workshop should check the side impact sensor
- 3Find out whether the sensor or anything else in the airbag system has recently been replaced or worked on
- 4Do not work on the airbag system yourself; airbags and pyrotechnic parts can cause serious injury, so this must be left to a workshop
Symptoms you may notice1
