5 modelsS60 (2001–2009), S80 (1999–2006), V70 (2000–2008), V70 XC / XC70 (2001–2007), XC90 (2003–)
What does this fault code mean?
The fault is intermittent, so it may not be present right now. The fault is in the wiring to the rear right side impact sensor, where the signal has been out of range, too high or too low, for a while.
Possible causes
- The wire is intermittently short-circuited to supply voltage, so the signal reads too high
- The sensor at the rear right may be faulty and give a signal that is too high
- The wire is intermittently short-circuited to ground, so the signal reads too low
What you can do
- 1If you can read fault codes, write down the one shown and check whether it comes back
- 2Have a workshop check the contacts at the SRS module and at the rear right sensor for contact resistance and oxidation
- 3Have a workshop check whether the wire has a brief short to supply voltage
- 4The SRS system's electrical checks are for a workshop
