What does this fault code mean?
The SRS module and the central electronic module (CEM) hold information on whether the car has a passenger airbag. If these do not match each other or the car, the code is set. The fault is intermittent, meaning it comes and goes, and the SRS warning lamp comes on.
Possible causes
- A wrong car configuration in the CEM, or a wrong parameter file in the SRS module
- The CEM setting or the SRS parameter file does not agree with the car type
What you can do
- 1Read and note the fault code with diagnostic equipment
- 2Have a workshop check whether the car should have a passenger airbag and whether the settings in the CEM and SRS match that
- 3Do not work on the airbag system yourself; leave it to a workshop
Symptoms you may notice1
- The SRS warning lamp is lit
