What does this fault code mean?
The number of seats stored in the SRS module and in the central electronic module (CEM) does not match. The code is set when the seat configuration parameter differs between them, and the SRS warning lamp comes on.
Possible causes
- A wrong car configuration in the CEM, or wrong parameter files in the SRS module
- The CEM setting or the SRS parameter file does not agree with the car type
What you can do
- 1Read and note the fault code with diagnostic equipment
- 2Have a workshop compare the number of seats stored in the CEM and in the SRS module
- 3Have a workshop reprogram the seat configuration in the SRS module if the values do not match
- 4Fix this code first, because it can also set codes for the rear curtain airbags and the seat belt tensioners in the third row
- 5Do not work on the airbag system yourself; leave it to a workshop
Symptoms you may notice1
- The SRS warning lamp is lit
