What does this fault code mean?
The SRS control module has, for a longer period, recorded an incorrect signal level from the front left seat belt buckle. The cause is a damaged signal wire between the buckle and the control module or a faulty buckle. Objects that have jammed in the buckle can also cause the fault.
Possible causes
- Damaged signal wire between the front left buckle and the SRS module
- Faulty seat belt buckle
- Objects jammed in the seat belt buckle
What you can do
- 1Read the fault code with diagnostic equipment and note it
- 2Check that nothing is jammed in the buckle and that the belt locks with a click when the tongue is pushed in
- 3Have a workshop check the connectors and wiring between the buckle and the SRS module; the connector contacts must not be damaged, pushed back or oxidized
- 4If the fault remains, have a workshop replace the seat belt buckle
- 5Do not work on the SRS airbag system yourself; have a workshop check it
