What does this fault code mean?
The SRS control module has registered a signal that is too low from the driver's seat belt tensioner. The fault is intermittent, meaning sporadic, and may not be present right now. The cause is a short to earth in the connectors or the igniter cable between the module and the tensioner, or in the tensioner itself.
Possible causes
- Earth short in the connectors or the igniter cable between the module and the tensioner
- Earth short in the tensioner, giving too low resistance in the igniter
What you can do
- 1Read the fault code with diagnostic equipment and note it
- 2Have a workshop check the connectors to the tensioner for contact resistance and oxidation, and test for an intermittent earth short
- 3Do not work on the tensioner or the SRS airbag system yourself; have a workshop carry out the checks
Symptoms you may notice1
- The SRS warning lamp is lit
