What does this fault code mean?
The restraint system control module reads the signal from the occupant weight sensor, and the code indicates that the module detects a communication fault in the signal line over a longer period. The fault can come from a damaged sensor or from a sensor that has been fitted incorrectly.
Possible causes
- Damaged occupant weight sensor
- Occupant weight sensor fitted incorrectly
What you can do
- 1Read off the code, clear it and road test the car to see whether it returns
- 2Have a workshop check that the occupant weight sensor is fitted correctly and not damaged
- 3If the sensor is replaced or adjusted, the workshop must calibrate the occupant weight sensor
- 4Do not work on the restraint system yourself; checking and replacing are workshop tasks
