What does this fault code mean?
The restraint system has registered that the resistance in the ignition circuit to the passenger airbag (stage 1) is too high, which points to a connection that is not fully sound. The fault is intermittent, meaning it has been present but may not be there now.
Possible causes
- Poor contact with high contact resistance in the connectors between the passenger airbag and the restraint system control module
- Open circuit in the ignition circuit between the airbag and the control module
- Open circuit in the airbag, so the igniter has too high resistance
What you can do
- 1Read off the code and clear it to see whether it returns
- 2If it returns, pass it to a workshop, since the connectors and the airbag are checked there
- 3The workshop checks the connectors to the passenger airbag and the control module for contact resistance and oxidation
- 4Do not work on the airbag or its wiring yourself; have a workshop carry out the checks
