What does this fault code mean?
The restraint system has registered that the leakage resistance in the ignition circuit to the passenger airbag (stage 2) is too low. This points to an earth short circuit. The fault is intermittent, meaning it has occurred at some point but may not be there now.
Possible causes
- Earth short circuit in the ignition cable or the plug between the passenger airbag and the restraint system control module
- Earth short circuit in the passenger airbag itself
What you can do
- 1Read off the code and clear it to see whether it returns, since the fault is intermittent
- 2If it returns, have a workshop check the plugs and ignition cable to the passenger airbag
- 3The workshop also checks the passenger airbag and the connector on the restraint system control module
- 4Do not work on the airbag or its wiring yourself; this is a workshop job
