What does this fault code mean?
The ignition circuit to the passenger airbag (stage 2) has registered a short circuit to a voltage source. The fault is intermittent, so it has occurred at some point but may not be there now. The cause may be in the wiring or in the airbag itself.
Possible causes
- Short circuit to voltage in the ignition cable or plug between the passenger airbag and the restraint system control module
- Short circuit to voltage in the passenger airbag itself
What you can do
- 1Read off the code and clear it to see whether it returns
- 2If it returns, pass it to a workshop, which should check the wiring and the airbag
- 3The workshop also checks the connectors to the restraint system control module and the passenger airbag
- 4Do not work on the airbag or its wiring yourself; this is a workshop job
