What does this fault code mean?
The restraint system has registered a short circuit to a voltage source in the ignition circuit to the right SIPS bag. The fault is intermittent, so it has occurred at some point but may not be there now. The cause can lie in the wire, the connectors or the SIPS bag itself.
Possible causes
- Short circuit to voltage in the ignition wire or the connectors between the SIPS bag and the restraint system control module
- Short circuit to voltage in the SIPS bag itself
What you can do
- 1Read off the code and clear it to see whether it returns
- 2If it returns, pass it to a workshop, which should check the wire, the connectors and the SIPS bag
- 3The workshop also checks the connector under the seat and the one at the restraint system control module
- 4Do not work on the SIPS bag or its wiring yourself; this is a workshop job
