What does this fault code mean?
The SRS has registered too low a resistance in the igniter circuit for the left side impact airbag (SIPS bag). This can come from a short circuit in the wiring, in the connectors or in the airbag. The fault is intermittent and may not be present right now.
Possible causes
- Short circuit in the igniter wiring or in the connectors between the SIPS bag and the SRS control module
- Short circuit in the SIPS bag, giving too low resistance in the igniter
What you can do
- 1Have a workshop visually check the connector to the supplemental restraint system control module for loose, corroded or chafed contacts
- 2Clear the code and see if it comes back
- 3If it comes back, have a workshop measure the circuit and check the SIPS bag with diagnostic equipment
- 4Do not work on the airbag system yourself; have a workshop check it
