What does this fault code mean?
The SRS has registered too high a resistance in the igniter circuit for the left side impact airbag (SIPS bag). This can be caused by a break in the wiring, poor contact or a faulty SIPS bag. The fault is intermittent and may not be present right now.
Possible causes
- A broken wire, or resistance at the contacts linking the left SIPS bag to the SRS control module
- Break in the SIPS bag, giving too high resistance in the igniter
What you can do
- 1Have a workshop visually check the connector under the left seat and the connector to the SRS control module for loose, oxidised or corroded contacts
- 2Have a workshop examine the wiring between the seat and the SRS control module for chafing and damaged insulation
- 3Clear the code and see if it comes back
- 4If it comes back, have a workshop measure the resistance in the circuit and check the SIPS bag with diagnostic equipment
- 5Do not work on the airbag system yourself; have a workshop check it
Symptoms you may notice1
- The SRS warning lamp is on
