Possible causes
- An open wire, or poor contact where the buckle wiring joins the control module
- Short circuit to supply voltage in the wiring between the buckle and the control module
- Faulty seat belt buckle
What you can do
- 1Have a workshop visually check the connector at the seat belt buckle and the connector to the SRS control module for loose, oxidised or corroded contacts
- 2Have a workshop examine the wiring between the buckle and the SRS control module for chafing and crush damage
- 3Clear the code and see if it comes back
- 4If it comes back, have a workshop check the wiring and the buckle with diagnostic equipment
- 5Do not work on the airbag system yourself; have a workshop check it
