What does this fault code mean?
Although the code's name says signal too high, it applies when the voltage in the driver's seat belt buckle is too low. This can be caused by a faulty buckle or by a short circuit to ground in the wiring or connector. The fault is intermittent, so it may not be present right now.
Possible causes
- Faulty seat belt buckle
- Short circuit to ground in the wiring or connector
What you can do
- 1Have a workshop visually check the connector at the seat belt buckle and the wiring for chafing and crush damage
- 2Clear the code and see if it comes back
- 3If it comes back, have a workshop check the wiring for a short to ground with diagnostic equipment and replace the buckle if needed
- 4Do not work on the airbag system yourself; have a workshop check it
