What does this fault code mean?
The SRS is not receiving the signal from the left front side impact sensor. This can be caused by a faulty sensor, or by an open circuit or a short to ground in the signal line. The fault is intermittent, so it may not be present right now.
Possible causes
- Faulty side impact sensor
- Open circuit or short to ground in the signal line
What you can do
- 1Have a workshop visually check the connector at the left front side impact sensor and the connector to the SRS control module for loose, oxidised or corroded contacts
- 2Follow the signal line between the sensor and the SRS control module and look for chafing and crush damage
- 3Clear the code and see if it comes back
- 4If it comes back, have a workshop measure the signal line and check the sensor with diagnostic equipment
- 5Do not work on the airbag system yourself; have a workshop check it
