What does this fault code mean?
The seat belt reminder receives a faulty signal from the SRS, which points to a short to supply voltage in the signal line. The fault is intermittent, so it may not be present right now. The seat belt reminder does not work while the fault is active.
Possible causes
- Short to supply voltage in the signal line between the SRS control module and the seat belt reminder
What you can do
- 1Have a workshop visually check the connector to the seat belt reminder and the connector to the SRS control module for loose, oxidised or corroded contacts
- 2Follow the signal line to the seat belt reminder and look for chafing and crush damage
- 3Clear the code and see if it comes back
- 4If it comes back, have a workshop measure the signal line against supply voltage and check the connectors with diagnostic equipment
- 5Do not work on the airbag system yourself; have a workshop check it
Symptoms you may notice2
