What does this fault code mean?
The SRS has registered that the resistance in the signal to the central locking is incorrect. The fault can come from a short to ground, an open circuit in the signal line, or a transport fuse that is not connected. The fault is intermittent, so it may not be present right now.
Possible causes
- Short to ground in the signal line between the SRS control module and the central locking
- Open circuit in the signal line between the SRS control module and the central locking
- Transport fuse not connected
What you can do
- 1Have a workshop check that the transport fuse in the engine bay relay fuse box is correctly connected
- 2Have a workshop visually check the connector to the central locking and the connector to the SRS control module for loose or corroded contacts
- 3Clear the code and see if it comes back
- 4If it comes back, have a workshop measure the signal line and check the connectors at the SRS control module and the locking control unit with diagnostic equipment
- 5Do not work on the airbag system yourself; have a workshop check it
Symptoms you may notice2
- The central locking locks but unlocks again straight away
- The SRS warning lamp is on
