Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
5 modelsS60 (2001–2009), S80 (1999–2006), V70 (2000–2008), V70 XC / XC70 (2001–2007), XC90 (2003–)
What does this fault code mean?
The supplemental restraint system and the central electronics module (CEM) are set up differently regarding AOS, meaning whether the car has AOS or not. The fault concerns the settings in the control modules rather than a single component.
Possible causes
- Incorrect setting in the central electronics module (CEM) or an incorrect parameter file in the supplemental restraint system
What you can do
- 1If you have diagnostic equipment: compare the AOS parameter in the central electronics module with the one in the supplemental restraint system. The values should match
- 2If they differ, have a workshop reprogram the control module that has the wrong setting
- 3After the work, clear the code and see if it comes back
- 4Do not work on the airbag system yourself; have a workshop check it
Symptoms you may notice1
- The SRS warning lamp is on
