Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
5 modelsS60 (2001–2009), S80 (1999–2006), V70 (2000–2008), V70 XC / XC70 (2001–2007), XC90 (2003–)
What does this fault code mean?
The SRS has registered the wrong identity for the front right impact sensor, meaning the sensor is not the model the system expects. Electrical interference in the signal can also give the wrong identity.
Possible causes
- The wrong model of front impact sensor is fitted in the supplemental restraint system
- Electrical interference in the signal between the sensor and the SRS control module makes the sensor answer with a wrong identity
What you can do
- 1Have a workshop check which model of front impact sensor is correct for the system and replace the sensor if it is wrong
- 2Have a workshop visually check the connector to the front impact sensor and the SRS control module for loose or corroded contacts, since interference can cause a wrong identity
- 3Clear the code and see if it comes back
- 4If it comes back, have a workshop replace the front right impact sensor
- 5Do not work on the airbag system yourself; have a workshop check it
