What does this fault code mean?
The signal from the front left impact sensor is faulty on its signal line, either too low or too high. The cause can be a short to supply voltage or to ground in the wiring or connector, a short between the signal lines, or a faulty sensor.
Possible causes
- Short to supply voltage in the signal line between the front left impact sensor and the SRS control module
- Short to ground in the signal line between the sensor and the SRS control module
- Short to supply voltage in the connector
- Short to ground in the connector
- Short between the signal lines from the SRS control module to the front impact sensor
- Short circuit inside the front impact sensor, meaning a faulty sensor
What you can do
- 1Have a workshop visually check the connector at the front left impact sensor and the connector to the SRS control module for chafing, crush damage and corrosion
- 2Follow the signal lines between the sensor and the SRS control module and look for chafed spots where they may touch each other or the body
- 3Clear the code and see if it comes back
- 4If it comes back, have a workshop check the wiring and replace the front impact sensor if no other fault is found
- 5Do not work on the airbag system yourself; have a workshop check it
