What does this fault code mean?
The SRS has found that the front left impact sensor has the wrong identity for the system, meaning it is not the model that is required. Electrical interference in the signal can also cause a wrong identity.
Possible causes
- The wrong model of front impact sensor is fitted in the supplemental restraint system
- Electrical interference in the signal between the sensor and the SRS control module makes the sensor answer with a wrong identity
What you can do
- 1Have a workshop check which model of front impact sensor the system requires and replace the front left sensor if it is wrong
- 2Have a workshop visually check the connector to the sensor and the SRS control module for loose or corroded contacts
- 3Clear the code and see if it comes back
- 4If the fault keeps coming back, have a workshop replace the front left impact sensor
- 5Do not work on the airbag system yourself; have a workshop check it
