What does this fault code mean?
The supplemental restraint system is not getting the front seat location reading over the CAN network from the central electronics module (CEM). The cause can be a break in the network, a fault in the CEM or a fault in the seat position sensor.
Possible causes
- Break in the CAN network
- Fault in the central electronics module (CEM)
- Fault in the seat position sensor
What you can do
- 1If you have diagnostic equipment: check whether live data for the front seat position is shown. If the value is missing, the signal is gone from the CAN network
- 2Have a workshop visually check the connector to the SRS control module for loose or corroded contacts
- 3Clear the code and see if it comes back
- 4If it comes back, have a workshop check the CAN wiring between the control modules and look into the central electronics module
- 5Do not work on the airbag system yourself; have a workshop check it
