What does this fault code mean?
The supplemental restraint system is missing the signal about how the passenger airbag switch is configured. That signal should come over the CAN network from the central electronics module (CEM). The cause can be a break in the network or a fault in the CEM.
Possible causes
- Break in the CAN network
- Fault in the central electronics module (CEM)
What you can do
- 1If you have diagnostic equipment: check whether the passenger airbag switch configuration appears in live data. If it is missing, the CAN signal is gone
- 2Have a workshop visually check the connector to the SRS control module for loose or corroded contacts
- 3Clear the code and see if it comes back
- 4If it comes back, have a workshop check the CAN wiring between the control modules and look into the central electronics module
- 5Do not work on the airbag system yourself; have a workshop check it
Symptoms you may notice1
- The SRS warning lamp is on
