What does this fault code mean?
The voltage on the signal line from the passenger airbag switch is too low, or the signal is missing. This can be caused by a short to ground or an open circuit in the wiring or connectors between the SRS and the switch.
Possible causes
- Short to ground in the signal line or connectors between the SRS control module and the passenger airbag switch
- Open circuit in the signal line or connectors between the SRS control module and the passenger airbag switch
What you can do
- 1Have a workshop visually check the connector to the passenger airbag switch and the connector to the SRS control module for loose, corroded or chafed contacts
- 2Have a workshop follow the wiring between the control module and the switch and look for chafing, crush damage and spots where it may touch the body
- 3Clear the code and see if it comes back
- 4If it comes back, have a workshop check the wiring for shorts to ground and open circuits, and the power supply from the ignition switch
- 5Do not work on the airbag system yourself; have a workshop check it
