What does this fault code mean?
The SRS receives too low a voltage from the passenger airbag switch, or the signal is missing altogether. The cause can be a short to ground or an open circuit in the signal line or connectors between the SRS and the switch.
Possible causes
- Short to ground in the signal line or connectors between the SRS control module and the passenger airbag switch
- Open circuit in the signal line or connectors between the SRS control module and the passenger airbag switch
What you can do
- 1Have a workshop visually check the connector at the passenger airbag switch and the connector at the SRS control module for loose, corroded or chafed contacts
- 2Have a workshop examine the wiring between the control module and the switch for chafing and crush damage
- 3Clear the code and see if it comes back
- 4If it comes back, have a workshop check the wiring for a short to ground and any open circuit, and the power feed from the ignition switch
- 5Do not work on the airbag system yourself; have a workshop check it
