What does this fault code mean?
The voltage on the signal line from the passenger airbag switch is too high. This can be caused by a short to supply voltage in the wiring, in the connectors or in the switch.
Possible causes
- Short to supply voltage in the signal line or connectors between the SRS control module and the passenger airbag switch
- Short to supply voltage inside the passenger airbag switch
What you can do
- 1Have a workshop visually check the connector to the passenger airbag switch and the connector to the SRS control module for chafing, crush damage and corrosion
- 2Have a workshop follow the wiring between the control module and the switch and look for chafed spots where it may touch a live wire
- 3Clear the code and see if it comes back
- 4If it comes back, have a workshop check the wiring for a short to supply voltage with diagnostic equipment and replace the switch if needed
- 5Do not work on the airbag system yourself; have a workshop check it
