What does this fault code mean?
The supplemental restraint system (SRS) module checks the signal that deactivates the passenger airbag. If the module finds a fault in that signal, the code is stored and the passenger airbag cannot be deactivated as intended. The SRS warning lamp and the passenger airbag deactivation (PAD) lamp come on.
Possible causes
- The SRS module has identified that the passenger airbag cannot be deactivated
What you can do
- 1Read the code, clear it and check whether it returns after a restart
- 2On cars with a passenger airbag switch: have a workshop replace the switch and read the code again
- 3If the fault remains, or the car has no switch: have a workshop replace the supplemental restraint system (SRS) module
- 4Do not work on the airbag system yourself; have a workshop carry out all work on the SRS and airbags
Symptoms you may notice2
- SRS warning lamp on
- Passenger airbag deactivation (PAD) lamp on
