What does this fault code mean?
The supplemental restraint system (SRS) detects a fault inside the occupant weight sensor (OWS). The fault check points to the seat belt force sensor, which is part of the same system. The passenger airbag is deactivated, and the SRS and PAD lamps come on.
Possible causes
- The occupant weight sensor (OWS) has an inner fault
What you can do
- 1Read and clear the code, and check whether it returns
- 2Have a workshop inspect the wires from the OWS module to the seat belt force sensor for damage
- 3Have a workshop replace the seat belt force sensor if no wiring damage is found
- 4Do not work on the airbag system yourself; have a workshop carry out all work on the SRS and airbags
