Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
9 modelsS60 (2011–), S80 (2007–), V40 (2013–), V40 Cross Country (2013–), V60 (2011–), V60 Cross Country (2015–), V70 (2008–), XC60 (2009–), XC70 (2008–)
What does this fault code mean?
In the stage 1 driver airbag circuit, the SRS module measures DC voltage. The code is stored if the voltage stays too high for too long. The fault is a short-circuit to supply voltage in that circuit.
Possible causes
- Cable shorted to supply voltage
- Short-circuit in the connections
- Short to supply voltage in the clockspring in the steering wheel
What you can do
- 1Read the code, clear it and drive the car to see whether it returns
- 2Have a workshop check the wire between the control module and the driver's airbag, stage 1, for a short to supply voltage, and check the connections including the clockspring
- 3If the wire has no fault, have a workshop replace the driver's airbag
- 4The airbag system belongs with a workshop; do not carry out your own fault-finding on the SRS or airbags
Symptoms you may notice3
- SRS warning lamp on
- An SRS warning message is shown
- Yellow warning symbol and text message shown in the display
