Applies to the following models:

What does this fault code mean?
In the stage 1 driver airbag circuit, the SRS module measures resistance. The code is stored if the resistance stays too high for too long. The cause is an open circuit in the wire, the connections, the airbag or the clockspring.
Possible causes
- Break in the wire
- Contact resistance or oxidation at the connections
- Open circuit in the driver's airbag, where the igniter has too high a resistance
- Open circuit in the clockspring in the steering wheel
What you can do
- 1Read the code, clear it and drive the car to see whether it comes back
- 2Have a workshop check the connectors and the wire between the SRS module and the driver's airbag, stage 1, for breaks and contact resistance
- 3If the wire is intact, have a workshop replace the driver's airbag
- 4Do not handle the airbag system yourself; leave it to a workshop
Symptoms you may notice3
- SRS warning lamp on
- An SRS warning message is shown
- Yellow warning symbol and text message shown in the display
