What does this fault code mean?
The SRS measures DC voltage in the stage 3 driver airbag circuit. A voltage that stays too low for too long indicates a short-circuit to ground in that circuit.
Possible causes
- Cable shorted to earth
- Contact resistance or oxidation at the connections
- Short-circuit at the connections
What you can do
- 1Read and clear the code, then test drive to see whether it returns
- 2Have a workshop check the connectors and the wire to the stage 3 driver airbag for a short to ground
- 3If the wire is intact, have a workshop replace the stage 3 driver airbag
- 4Keep out of the airbag system yourself; a workshop should carry out all such work
Symptoms you may notice1
- A red warning symbol and text message shown in the display
