What does this fault code mean?
In the stage 3 driver airbag circuit the SRS module measures resistance. The code is stored if the resistance stays too low for too long. The cause is a short-circuit in the wiring, the connections or the airbag itself.
Possible causes
- Wiring is short-circuited
- Short-circuit at the connections
- Short-circuit in the stage 3 driver airbag, where the igniter has too low a resistance
What you can do
- 1Read and clear the code, then test drive to see whether it returns
- 2Have a workshop check the connections and the wire between the SRS module and the stage 3 airbag for shorts to other wires
- 3If the wiring is sound, have a workshop replace the stage 3 driver airbag
- 4The workshop should handle any work on the airbag system
Symptoms you may notice1
- A red warning symbol and text message shown in the display
