What does this fault code mean?
The SRS checks the DC voltage in the driver's side knee airbag circuit. Voltage above the limit for too long points to a short to supply voltage.
Possible causes
- Wire shorted to supply voltage
- Short-circuit inside the connectors
What you can do
- 1Read and clear the code, drive the car and see whether it comes back
- 2Have a workshop check the connections visually and for contact resistance and oxidation, and the wire for a short to supply voltage
- 3If the wire has no fault, have a workshop replace the driver's side knee airbag
- 4The battery must be disconnected before the airbag system is touched, or the airbag could deploy by mistake; leave this to a workshop
Symptoms you may notice2
- Yellow warning symbol and text message in the display
- SRS indicator lamp lit or behaving abnormally
