What does this fault code mean?
In the driver's side knee airbag circuit, the SRS module measures resistance. The code is stored if the resistance stays too low for too long. The fault is a short-circuit that can sit in the wiring, the connections or the igniter section of the airbag.
Possible causes
- Shorts in the wiring
- Short-circuit at the connections
- Short-circuit in the driver's side knee airbag, where the igniter section has too low a resistance
What you can do
- 1Read and clear the code, then test drive to see whether it returns
- 2Have a workshop check the wiring and connections between the SRS module and the knee airbag for shorts to other wires in the circuit
- 3If the wiring is sound, have a workshop replace the driver's side knee airbag
- 4Leave all work on the airbag system to a workshop
Symptoms you may notice2
- Yellow warning symbol and text message in the display
- SRS indicator lamp lit or behaving abnormally
