What does this fault code mean?
The SRS module measures resistance in the passenger airbag stage 1 circuit. If the resistance is too low for too long, the code points to a short-circuit in the wiring, the connections, the airbag or the igniter.
Possible causes
- Shorts in the wiring
- Short-circuit at the connections
- Short-circuit in the passenger airbag, stage 1, where the igniter has too low a resistance
What you can do
- 1Read and clear the code, then test drive to see whether it returns
- 2Have a workshop check the wiring and connections between the SRS module and the passenger airbag for shorts to other wires in the circuit
- 3If the wiring is sound, have a workshop replace the passenger airbag
- 4All airbag system work belongs with a workshop
Symptoms you may notice4
- SRS warning lamp on
- An SRS warning message is shown
- Warning symbol and text message in the display
- SRS indicator lamp lit or behaving abnormally
