Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
9 modelsS60 (2011–), S80 (2007–), V40 (2013–), V40 Cross Country (2013–), V60 (2011–), V60 Cross Country (2015–), V70 (2008–), XC60 (2009–), XC70 (2008–)
What does this fault code mean?
In the stage 2 passenger airbag circuit, the SRS module measures resistance. A resistance that stays too low for too long gives this code, which points to a short-circuit in the wiring, the connections or the airbag.
Possible causes
- Short-circuit inside the wiring itself
- Shorts at the connections
- Short-circuit in the stage 2 passenger airbag, where the igniter has too low a resistance
What you can do
- 1Read and clear the code, then test drive to see whether it returns
- 2Have a workshop check the wires and connections between SRS and the stage 2 passenger airbag for shorts to other wires
- 3If the wiring is sound, have a workshop replace the stage 2 passenger airbag
- 4Leave every part of the airbag work to a workshop
Symptoms you may notice4
- SRS warning lamp on
- An SRS warning message is shown
- Warning symbol and text message in the display
- SRS indicator lamp lit or behaving abnormally
