What does this fault code mean?
The SRS measures resistance in the stage 2 passenger airbag circuit. If it stays too high for too long, the code is stored. The fault comes from a break in the wire or the airbag, or from high contact resistance at the connections.
Possible causes
- Break in the wire
- Oxidation or contact resistance at the connections
- Open circuit in the stage 2 passenger airbag, where the igniter has too high a resistance
What you can do
- 1Read and clear the code, test drive and see whether it comes back
- 2Have a workshop check the connectors and wire for loose contacts, oxidation and breaks
- 3If the wire is intact, have a workshop replace the stage 2 passenger airbag
- 4Hand the airbag system over to a workshop
Symptoms you may notice4
- SRS warning lamp on
- An SRS warning message is shown
- Warning symbol and text message in the display
- SRS indicator lamp lit or behaving abnormally
