Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
7 modelsS60 (2011–), S80 (2007–), V60 (2011–), V60 Cross Country (2015–), V70 (2008–), XC60 (2009–), XC70 (2008–)
What does this fault code mean?
The SRS module measures resistance in the stage 3 passenger airbag circuit. If it stays too low for too long, the code is stored, pointing to a short-circuit in the wiring, the connections or the airbag.
Possible causes
- Wiring is short-circuited
- Short-circuit at the connectors
- Short-circuit in the stage 3 passenger airbag, where the igniter resistance is too low
What you can do
- 1Read and clear the code, then test drive to see whether it returns
- 2Have a workshop check the wire and connections between SRS and the stage 3 passenger airbag for shorts to other wires
- 3If the wiring is sound, have a workshop replace the stage 3 passenger airbag
- 4Leave the airbag system to a workshop
Symptoms you may notice2
- SRS warning lamp on
- An SRS warning message is shown
