What does this fault code mean?
The SRS module measures resistance in the front left side airbag circuit. If it is too low for too long, the code is stored. The cause is a short-circuit in the wiring, the connections or the side airbag's igniter section.
Possible causes
- Shorts in the wiring
- Short-circuit at the connections
- Short-circuit in the front left side airbag, where the igniter has too low a resistance
What you can do
- 1Read and clear the code, then test drive to see whether it returns
- 2Have a workshop check the wires and connections between SRS and the front left side airbag for shorts to other wires
- 3If the wiring is sound, have a workshop replace the front left side airbag
- 4Leave all airbag system work to a workshop
Symptoms you may notice4
- SRS warning lamp on
- An SRS warning message is shown
