What does this fault code mean?
The SRS measures resistance in the front left side airbag circuit. If it stays too high for too long, the code is stored. The fault is a break in the wire or the airbag, or high contact resistance at the connections.
Possible causes
- Break in the wire
- Contact resistance or oxidation at the connections
- Open circuit in the front left side airbag, where the igniter has too high a resistance
What you can do
- 1Read the code, clear it and test drive to see whether it comes back
- 2Have a workshop check the connectors visually for contact resistance and oxidation, and the wire for breaks
- 3If the wire is intact, have a workshop replace the front left side airbag
- 4The SRS should only be handled by a workshop
Symptoms you may notice4
- SRS warning lamp on
- An SRS warning message is shown
- Warning symbol and text message in the display
- SRS indicator lamp lit or behaving abnormally
