In the left curtain circuit, the SRS module measures resistance. If it stays too low for too long, the code is stored. The fault is a short-circuit in the wiring, the connections or the left curtain's igniter.
Possible causes
- Shorts in the wiring
- Short-circuit at the connections
- Short-circuit in the left-hand curtain, where the igniter has too low a resistance
What you can do
- 1Read and clear the code, then test drive to see whether it returns
- 2Have a workshop check the wires and connections between SRS and the left curtain for shorts to other wires
- 3If the wiring is sound, have a workshop replace the left-hand inflatable curtain
- 4Leave all work on the airbag system to a workshop
Symptoms you may notice4
- SRS warning lamp on
- An SRS warning message is shown
- Warning symbol and text message in the display
