What does this fault code mean?
The code applies to the voltage in the circuit to the driver's seat belt buckle. The control module stores it when the voltage is too low, which is caused by a wire shorted to ground, or by poor contact and a short circuit in the connections.
Possible causes
- The wire is short-circuited to ground.
- Contact resistance or oxidation in the connections.
- Short circuit in the connections.
What you can do
- 1Read out the fault code and clear it. If it comes back, the fault is still present.
- 2Have a workshop check the connectors at the control module and at the driver's seat belt buckle for loose contact and oxidation.
- 3Have a workshop check the wire to the seat belt buckle for a short circuit to ground in the vehicle body.
- 4If the fault is still present once the wiring has been checked, have a workshop replace the driver's seat belt buckle.
- 5Do not work on the airbag system yourself; have a workshop carry out the checks.
