What does this fault code mean?
The fault is sub-fault A of the driver's seat belt pretensioner. The airbag control module measures the resistance in the circuit to the pretensioner and stores the code when the resistance is too high. The causes are poor contact in the connector, a break in the wire, contact resistance or oxidation in the connections, or a break in the pretensioner itself.
Possible causes
- Poor contact in the seat belt pretensioner connector.
- Break in the wire.
- Contact resistance or oxidation in the connections.
- Break in the driver's seat belt pretensioner, in its igniter part.
What you can do
- 1Read out the fault code and clear it. If it comes back, the fault is still present.
- 2Have a workshop check the connector to the driver's seat belt pretensioner for poor contact and oxidation.
- 3Have a workshop check the wire to the pretensioner for a break.
- 4Have a workshop replace the driver's seat belt pretensioner if the wire and connectors are intact.
- 5Do not work on seat belt pretensioners or the airbag system yourself; have a workshop carry out the checks.
