What does this fault code mean?
The code applies to the voltage in the circuit to the rear left seat belt pretensioner. The control module stores it when the voltage is too low. The cause is a wire shorted to ground, or contact problems and short circuits in the connections.
Possible causes
- The wire is short-circuited to ground.
- Contact resistance or oxidation in the connections.
- Short circuit in the connections.
What you can do
- 1Read out the fault code and clear it. If it comes back, the fault is still present.
- 2Have a workshop check the connectors at the control module and at the rear left pretensioner for looseness and oxidation.
- 3Have a workshop check the wire to the rear left pretensioner for a short circuit to ground in the vehicle body.
- 4If the fault is still present once the wiring has been checked, have a workshop replace the rear left pretensioner.
- 5Do not work on seat belt pretensioners or the airbag system yourself; have a workshop carry out the checks.
