What does this fault code mean?
The fault is sub-fault B of the driver's lap seat belt pretensioner and is stored when the resistance in the circuit is too high. The causes may be a break in the wire, contact resistance or oxidation in the connections, or a break in the pretensioner.
Possible causes
- Break in the wire.
- Contact resistance or oxidation in the connections.
- Break in the driver's lap pretensioner, in its igniter part.
What you can do
- 1Read out the fault code and clear it. If it comes back, the fault is still present.
- 2Have a workshop check the connectors at the control module and at the lap pretensioner for contact resistance and oxidation.
- 3Have a workshop check the wire to the pretensioner for a break.
- 4Have a workshop replace the driver's lap pretensioner if the wire and connectors are intact.
- 5Do not work on seat belt pretensioners or the airbag system yourself; have a workshop carry out the checks.
