What does this fault code mean?
The supplemental restraint system module (SRS) measures the voltage in the circuit to the passenger's lap seat belt pretensioner. The code is stored when the voltage is too high and the incorrect value has persisted for a while. The cause may be a wire shorted to supply voltage or a short circuit in the connections.
Possible causes
- Wire short-circuited to supply voltage
- Short circuit in the connections
What you can do
- 1Read and note the code, clear it, and see whether it returns
- 2Have a workshop check the connectors and terminals between the SRS module and the pretensioner
- 3Have a workshop check the wire for a short to supply voltage and repair what is found
- 4Have a workshop replace the pretensioner if needed
- 5Do not work on the airbag system yourself; have a workshop check it
Symptoms you may notice2
- A red warning symbol and a text message are shown
- The SRS warning light comes on or behaves abnormally
