VOLVO
SRS-B007A1A - Passenger Seatbelt Pretensioner "B" Deployment Control (Subfault). General Electrical Failures. Circuit resistance below threshold
System
Supplemental Restraint System (SRS)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
5 modelsS60 (2011–), S80 (2007–), V60 (2011–), V60 Cross Country (2015–), XC60 (2009–)
What does this fault code mean?
The supplemental restraint system module (SRS) measures the resistance in the circuit to the passenger's lap seat belt pretensioner. The code is stored when the resistance is too low and the incorrect value has persisted for a while. The fault may be in the wiring, in the connections or in the pretensioner itself.
Possible causes
- Short circuit in the wiring in the circuit
- Short circuit in the connections
- Short circuit in the pretensioner for the lap belt (igniter section reads too little resistance)
What you can do
- 1Read and note the code, clear it, and see whether it returns
- 2Have a workshop check the connections between the module and the pretensioner
- 3Have a workshop check that the wires in the circuit are not shorted to each other
- 4Have a workshop replace the pretensioner if it is faulty
- 5Do not work on the airbag system yourself; have a workshop check it
Symptoms you may notice2
- A red warning symbol and a text message are shown
- The SRS warning light comes on or behaves abnormally
